UNM senior vice president for Finance and Administration announces Norma Allen as new University Controller: UNM Newsroom

Teresa Costantinidis, senior vice president for Finance and Administration (SVPFA), announced that Norma Allen has accepted the position as the new Controller for The University of New Mexico, effective Jan. 1, 2022. As the chief accounting and reporting officer, Allen will assume overall responsibility for the University’s controllership functions, including all main campus financial and accounting operations, procurement, payroll and treasury operations under the direction of the SVPFA.

Allen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Control Systems from the University of North Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has 24 years of professional accounting, finance, budgeting and administrative experience in both public and private industries including higher education, healthcare and entertainment. For the last 21 years, she has been at The University of New Mexico, where she has held various positions in Financial Services and the Office of Planning, Budget, and Analysis.

“The University Controller is a critical position to the organization and I am confident that Norma will be outstanding in her new role, and serve as a strong leader within the Financial Services Division,” said Costantinidis. “Her institutional knowledge, combined with her numerous years of related experience, will serve her well in carrying out the University’s overarching mission and goals.
